This is mainly a US issue. In Europe most people opt for public transportation because it’s cheaper, efficient and eco-conscious. Most of my friends don’t own a car. Also cities and countries throughout are well-connected is not necessary to own one. The car industry in the US is the main cause why public transportation infrastructure is almost nonexistent and in decay.
